We had an incredible 6-day tour covering Nairobi, Naivasha, Nakuru, and the Masai Mara with Beyond the Plains Safari, and it was flawless from start to finish! A huge thank you to Lilian for her timely communication, help with crafting the itinerary, and lightning-fast responses to every question. She even checked in with us daily from the Nairobi office to make sure we were having the best possible experience — a truly thoughtful touch. From the very first day, the whole team welcomed us warmly and gave us a detailed briefing, setting the tone for a well-organized and memorable trip. But the star of our safari was without a doubt our amazing guide, Ben. Thanks to his skill and knowledge, we saw all of the African Big Five, cheetahs, countless other animals, and were lucky enough to witness the Great Migration, which was absolutely breathtaking. Ben is a safe, careful driver and incredibly caring — he even went the extra mile to get a stepping stool for my mom so she could easily get in and out of the safari vehicle throughout the trip. His thoughtfulness, attention to comfort, and deep respect for the wildlife — giving animals space while ensuring we still had fantastic views, made our experience unforgettable. If you’re visiting Kenya, look no further. Beyond the Plains Safari is truly one of the best tour operators in the country — highly, highly recommended!
We recently went with Beyond the Plains to Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Serengeti, Amboseli and Ngorongoro Crater and it was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfectly organized and thoughtfully planned. Special mention to our Safari Specialist Felix. He was organised, communicative and very professional. We felt incredibly taken care of through him. An honourable mention to our driver Dan (Kenya) and Anderson (Tanzania) who are the kindest, down to earth most hard working men we’ve come across. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about wildlife, which made every game drive both educational and exciting. Even after 6 hours of driving (and half of us passed out in the car) they were alert the entire time to ensure we wouldn’t miss a single sight. One of the absolute highlights of our trip was seeing the Big 5 — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino — all in their natural habitat! I kept being told how rare it was to see a leopard and Dan helped us spot one on our first game drive! Each sighting felt special and unhurried, and we always had time to truly take in the moment. The accommodations were comfortable and authentic, and the service was top-notch throughout. If you're looking for a safari experience that goes beyond expectations, Beyond the Plains is the way to go. We felt safe, inspired, and truly connected to nature every step of the way. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful experience with our Masai Mara safari! From start to finish, everything was well-organised and smooth. Our guide was exceptional – he had great knowledge of the wildlife and the region, and his passion really added to the experience. He was also very kind and polite, making us feel comfortable and welcomed throughout the journey. We got to see the Big Five and so much more, and every game drive was exciting and memorable. We truly enjoyed every moment of the safari. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore the beauty of Masai Mara with a professional and friendly team!
We had a very nice trip with this company! 😊 they helped us to plan the whole itinerary, agreed on all the changed along the way! The driver was very nice, had good sense of humor (no more girraffes!! 😃) 😊 the whole safari was good and we saw the Big5, even 4/5 Ugly 5 😁
Unforgettable Safari Experience with Beyond the Plains We recently returned from an incredible nine-day safari tour organized by Beyond the Plains, and we can’t recommend them highly enough. The entire trip was expertly curated by Felix, who ensured every detail was thoughtfully planned and executed. Our journey began in Nairobi, taking us through the stunning landscapes of Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, then crossing into Tanzania to explore the vast Serengeti and awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater, before wrapping up our adventure back in Kenya at the picturesque Amboseli National Park. From the moment we arrived in Nairobi, Felix and Dan were there to greet us promptly at the airport, setting the tone for what turned out to be a seamless and memorable journey. Dan was our driver and guide during the Kenya leg, and he was exceptional. Far beyond just driving us from place to place, Dan was observant, detail-oriented, and always made sure we were well-informed about what to expect during our transits. His insights and commentary added great depth to our experience, and his thoughtfulness never went unnoticed. Once we crossed into Tanzania, we were met by Anderson, who took over for the rest of the tour. Anderson was nothing short of outstanding—professional, kind, and clearly passionate about what he does. He had our best interests at heart every step of the way, and his commitment to making sure we had the best wildlife encounters was truly appreciated. Despite the long hours on the road, he was always upbeat, ensuring our comfort while tirelessly searching for the best sightings. Both Dan and Anderson brought a wealth of knowledge to the experience and were incredibly generous in sharing it. Whether it was information about animal behavior, the ecosystems, or cultural insights, we learned so much thanks to them. We also appreciated how both were proactive and respectful—not just to us as their guests, but also to other drivers and vehicles on the game drives, which speaks volumes about their professionalism and courtesy. Even during full-day drives, there was never a dull moment with either Dan or Anderson. Their humor, stories, and deep connection with the land made the journey as enjoyable as the destinations themselves. If you're considering a safari in Kenya and Tanzania, look no further than Beyond the Plains. With a team like this, you're guaranteed not just a trip—but a lifetime memory.
