Hiking Kilimanjaro was an amazing challenge, and we truly couldn’t have done it without the Kilimanjaro Umoja Tours team. My brother and I wanted to take my 69 year old father on a father and sons outdoors trip. We decided to stretch for hiking to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro. My father is in great shape for his age, but is still old for this type of climb, so we wanted to ensure we had an experienced team supporting us.Kilimanjaro Umoja Tours  team was helpful through the entire experience, from the 80+ emails I sent coordinating the trip and several changes to the itinerary, to the amazing on the ground team of guides and porters. Even the food was actually quite good, which surprised us given how far we were from Moshi/Arusha. They were fun and cheerful when they could be, and immediately flipped to decisive, experienced professionals when they needed to be. They gave us a lot of confidence that we would all be safe on this journey. The Marangu route was incredibly beautiful, and really highlighted the diverse eco systems of the mountain. Each day was well planned out in terms of distance and elevation gain. On the summit night, the Kilimanjaro Umoja Tours team carefully monitored us all, especially our father, and supported him both up and down the mountain to ensure his safety. As he displayed signs of AMS after reaching Uhuru Peak, the lead guide quickly took him down the mountain to ensure his safety, and he quickly regained his balance and strength. Hiking Kilimanjaro is definitely not for the faint of heart. It’s by far the hardest physical challenge I’ve ever done. And even with the incredible support of the Kilimanjaro Umoja Tours team, it was definitely a stretch for a 69 year old man. But if you are up for the task, you won’t regret the journey!

Me and my family wanted to do a one-day safari trip to Tarangire. Juma, the organizer and now our friend, arranged everything for us in less than a day!

We were staying in Springlands Hotel in Moshi so we needed leave early in the morning, first we picked up our lunch packages (which are included!) in Arusha and then we drove off to Tarangire. Our tour guide was the most kind and interesting person ever. He has a lot of knowledge about the animals and the park, he drove throughout the whole park to go to the best spots to see the animals and had a good sense of humor. We saw elephants (tembo), zebra's (pundamilia), giraffes (twiga), cheetah's (duma) and a lot of other animals! All of us truly enjoyed this safari trip and would definitely recommend it to anyone!

I was more than satisfied with everything from the airport transfer to the organization of the climbing tour and safaris. Individual wishes are listened to and taken into account. The accommodation and food are also excellent in my opinion, with everything from traditional to 5-star. I am also enthusiastic about the work of the people at the Upendo-Mama-Africa children's center, which is supported by the company's proceeds.
