We recently completed a wonderful 5 Days / 4 Nights Kerala trip with The Travel Guide (Durgesh Singh), and it turned out to be a truly memorable and enriching experience for all of us.
We were a group of 9 members from three families, and the entire journey from Kochi to Ernakulam, Munnar (2 days), Thekkady (1 day), and Alleppey houseboat (1 day) was very well planned and smoothly executed.
The tempo traveller arranged for us was comfortable and perfectly suited for our group. A special mention to our driver—he was extremely kind, supportive, and cooperative throughout the trip. He made genuine efforts to show us as many scenic spots as possible and ensured we were comfortable at all times.
Munnar was absolutely breathtaking with its lush green tea plantations, misty hills, and refreshing weather. We enjoyed the jeep safari and visited the beautiful rose garden. Although the tea factory was closed (weekly off on Monday) on our scheduled day, we still got to enjoy the scenic tea gardens (mostly private properties) and capture some amazing views.
In Thekkady, we had a great experience at the Kerala Spice and Ayurvedic Garden, where a knowledgeable lady explained various spices and Ayurvedic plants along with their health benefits in a very simple and engaging manner. It was both informative and interesting. We also enjoyed the vibrant cultural shows, which gave us a glimpse into Kerala’s rich traditions.
The highlight of our trip was the Alleppey houseboat stay (Blue Shark)—a truly peaceful and unforgettable experience. Cruising through the serene backwaters, enjoying freshly prepared food, and relaxing in the lap of nature made it a perfect ending to our journey.
Towards the end, we explored Fort Kochi, where we visited the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets, a unique fishing technique believed to have been introduced by Chinese traders centuries ago. Watching these large nets in action was a fascinating experience.
We also visited St. Francis Church, one of the oldest European churches in India, known for its colonial architecture and historical importance, including its connection to Vasco da Gama.
We concluded our trip with some shopping in the local town market, picking up souvenirs and enjoying the local vibe.
Despite the ongoing LPG challenges in the hospitality sector, the food experience remained very good, and the team supported us in every possible way to ensure our comfort.
Overall, this trip was perfectly planned, well-coordinated, and completely hassle-free. Every destination had its own charm, and the entire experience was smooth and enjoyable.
