After being closed for two years owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the historic and stunning Vizhinjam Lighthouse has finally reopened to visitors. Vizhinjam is an iconic structure seen by a huge number of tourists every year. It is one of the state's and country's oldest lighthouses.
On May 1, the historic lighthouse reopened to the public, and on the first day, a long line of visitors formed around the tower.
People can get some amazing bird's eye views of Thiruvananthapuram's picture-perfect seafront from the lighthouse. Tourist destinations that had been closed for a long time are progressively reopening now that the number of COVID-19 infections has decreased dramatically.
You can easily see some spectacular sights unfolding before your eyes once you reach the top of the lighthouse. It features breathtaking vistas of Kovalam's Lighthouse Beach, Edakkallu rock formations, and Eve's Beach or Hawa Beach, to name a few.
Only a few persons are permitted to enter the lighthouse at this time.
Time- 10 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5.45 p.m.
Monday is a holiday.
Entry inside the Vizhinjam Lighthouse was apparently prohibited beginning in March 2020, shortly after the outbreak.
