Nashik is a city in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the administrative headquarters of Nashik District and Nashik Division. It is also an important pilgrimage center for Hindus. Nashik is located in the northwest corner of Maharashtra, about 150 km northeast of Mumbai, the state capital. Nashik has a population of about 1.5 million people. It is a major center for agriculture and wine production. Nashik is also an important center for the pharmaceutical industry. The city is known for its temples, especially the Saptashrungi Temple, and for its annual Nashik Fair, which is one of the largest fairs in India.
