UAE - based Indian businessman S P Singh Oberoi was left surprised while travelling from Amritsar to Dubai, having the plane to himself while boarding Air India's flight from Amritsar to Dubai.

Oberoi was the only passenger on the plane's three hour flight to Dubai that departed from Amritsar around 3.45 am on Wednesday. This benefit was owing to his golden visa of Dubai allowing 10 year long residency in the UAE.

During the flight he clicked pictures with the crew. This was the third time in the last five weeks when a flight to Dubai departed with one passenger, 2 being from Mumbai to Dubai.

India suspended its international flights on March 23, 2020 due to the second wave of Covid-19 within the country. However, special international flights resumed their operations under Vande Bharat Mission since May 2020 and under air bubble pacts formed with around 27 countries following July 2020.
Flights between UAE and India also come under this pact and can be operational adhering to all Covid-19 restrictions.
