By Air

Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) is the main gateway, located about 30 km east of the city and served by direct flights from major hubs worldwide, including several Indian cities via Etihad Airways. Dubai International Airport (DXB) is also a viable entry point, roughly 90 minutes away by road, and often has more flight options.

By Road

Abu Dhabi is well connected by highway to the rest of the UAE. From Dubai, the drive takes about 90 minutes via the E11 (Sheikh Zayed Road). Regular intercity buses run between Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi, and private taxis or ride-hailing apps are widely available for door-to-door transfers.

Getting Around

Taxis are metered, plentiful, and the most convenient way to get around the city. The public bus network covers most attractions affordably, and ride-hailing apps like Careem and Uber operate widely. Yas Island and Saadiyat Island are best explored with a car or taxi given the distances between attractions.
