Aihole is a small village in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka, India. It is located in the Malnad region, and is best known as the location of a large number of ancient Hindu and Jain temples. The Aihole Jainagudis group is a cluster of Jain temples located in the village of Aihole. The temples are dedicated to the Jain tirthankaras Mahavira, Parshvanatha, and Adinatha. The Aihole Jainagudis group was built in the 6th or 7th century AD. The temples are some of the oldest Jain temples in India, and are important examples of early Jain architecture. The Aihole Jainagudis group is currently in a state of disrepair, and is in need of restoration.
