About Berlin Wall Memorial and Documentation Centre
The Berlin Wall Memorial and Documentation Centre is a memorial and museum in Berlin, Germany, dedicated to the victims of the Berlin Wall. It is located on the site of the former "Checkpoint Charlie" border crossing between East and West Berlin. The memorial consists of the preserved stretch of the Berlin Wall with the "Haus der Kulturen der Welt" (House of World Cultures) on the northern side, and the open-air exhibition in the southern sector. The outdoor exhibition includes the preserved grounds of the former "East German" border fortifications, as well as a number of original border guard towers and bunkers. The Documentation Centre includes a permanent exhibit on the history of the Berlin Wall, as well as temporary exhibitions on specific aspects of the Wall's history.
