About Barabati Fort
The Cuttack Barabati Fort is an archaeological site located in Cuttack, Odisha, India. It is situated on the left bank of the Mahanadi River. The fort was built by the Somavamsi dynasty in the 9th century AD. The fort was originally known as the Kalinga Fort. The fort was rebuilt by the Ganga dynasty in the 12th century AD. The fort was captured by the Muslims in the 13th century AD. The fort was captured by the Marathas in the 18th century AD. The fort was captured by the British in the 19th century AD.
