The Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is a national park and a tiger reserve. The sanctuary is located in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas, in the Alipurduar district and is spread over an area of 219.01 km2 (84.51 sq mi). The sanctuary was established in 1941 as a hunting reserve. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1968 and a tiger reserve in 2002. The sanctuary is home to a large population of Indian elephants. It also has a significant population of Indian rhinoceros. Other mammals include Bengal tiger, Indian leopard, spotted deer, barking deer, sambar deer, and hog deer.
