About Rangasamy Peak And Pillar
Kotagiri Rangasamy Peak and Pillar, also known as Kotagiri Peak, is a mountain located in the Nilgiri Hills of Tamil Nadu, India. At an elevation of 2,623 metres (8,596 feet), Kotagiri Peak is the fourth highest mountain in the Nilgiri Hills. The mountain is named after Rangasamy, a freedom fighter from the region. The peak and pillar are considered sacred by the Tamil people and are popular tourist destinations. The mountain can be accessed via the Kotagiri town, located at the base of the mountain. The climb to the summit is a challenging hike, with an elevation gain of 1,600 metres (5,249 feet). The summit offers stunning views of the surrounding Nilgiri Hills.
