It’s one of the most popular destinations in the country and for good reason. There’s so much to see and do in Marrakech, from wandering through the markets to exploring the ancient city ruins. If you’re planning a trip to Marrakech, here are some of the top things you won’t want to miss. The Souks The souks (markets) in Marrakech are some of the most famous in the world. They’re definitely not for the faint of heart, as they can be quite overwhelming, but they’re a must-see for any visitor to the city. There are several different markets in Marrakech, but the most famous is the Djemaa el-Fna. This market is a true assault on the senses, with all sorts of vendors selling everything from food to souvenirs. It can be a bit overwhelming, but it’s definitely an experience you won’t forget. The Medina The Medina is the ancient city of Marrakech. It’s home to some of the city’s most famous landmarks, including the Koutoubia Mosque and the Saadian Tombs. The Medina is a great place to wander around and explore. Be sure to climb to the top of the Koutoubia Mosque for some amazing views of the city. The Palmeraie The Palmeraie is a large palm grove just outside of Marrakech. It’s a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and relax in the shade of the palm trees.
