About Aranmula

Aranmula is a census town in Pathanamthitta district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is situated on the banks of the Pamba River, about 5 kilometres from the town of Pathanamthitta. The town is famous for the Aranmula Parthasarathy Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Parthasarathy, the charioteer of Lord Krishna. The temple is believed to have been founded by the sage Parasurama. The annual Aranmula Uthrattathi Boat Race, held on the Pamba River on the day of Thiruvonam, is a major tourist attraction.
