The church of Sant’Ignazio di Loyola is a Jesuit church located in the Piazza Sant’Ignazio in Rome, Italy. It was designed by the Italian Baroque architect Andrea Pozzo and built between 1626 and 1650. The church is dedicated to Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits. The facade of the church is characterized by its concave shape and the two bell towers. The interior of the church is richly decorated with frescoes, stucco and marble. The most famous of these is the fresco on the ceiling of the church by Andrea Pozzo, which depicts the Ignatian vision of the martyr Saint Lawrence being roasted on a gridiron.
