About Basilica of Candelaria
The Basilica of Candelaria is a Roman Catholic church located in the town of Candelaria on the island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands. The church is dedicated to the Virgin of Candelaria, the patron saint of the Canary Islands. The current church was built in the 18th century, on the site of an earlier church which was destroyed by a hurricane in 1722. The church is a notable example of Canary Islands Baroque architecture.
