Kalakkadu Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a Wildlife Sanctuary and a Tiger Reserve. The sanctuary is located in the Tirunelveli district, in the Western Ghats. It is spread over an area of 958.8 square kilometres (371.0 sq mi). Kalakkadu Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1978. The sanctuary is a protected area for the conservation of the endangered Bengal tiger. The sanctuary is also home to other animals, including Indian elephants, leopards, sloth bears, gaur, spotted deer, and wild boars.
