Tirunelveli Vettuvan Koil is a Hindu temple located in the town of Tirunelveli in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to the god Vishnu, and is one of the 108 Vishnu temples in India. The temple was built in the Dravidian style of architecture, and is believed to have been constructed in the 8th century by the Chola king Raja Raja Chola I. The temple is spread over an area of 2.5 acres (10,000 m2), and is surrounded by a wall that is 2,000 feet (610 m) in length. The temple has a five-tiered tower that rises to a height of 66 feet (20 m), and is decorated with carvings of gods and goddesses. The temple is a popular pilgrimage destination, and is visited by hundreds of pilgrims every day.
