Pookot Lake

There is a great diversity of flora and fauna in Pookode Lake. Some of the common plant species found here are the sacred fig tree, the Indian rubber tree, the jackfruit tree, the rose apple tree, and the Indian gooseberry tree. The lake is also home to a variety of animals, including the common palm civet, the fishing cat, the common palm squirrel, the Indian porcupine, and the Malabar giant squirrel.

Boating, swimming, and fishing are the main activities at Pookode Lake. There are also a few restaurants and snack stalls around the lake.

The best time to visit Pookode Lake is from November to February.

The best way to reach Pookode Lake is to take a bus from Kozhikode and get down at the Pookode bus stop. The lake is around 4 km from the bus stop.
