Info   Day 2 Valletta Ta’Qali, Mdina

Starting at 09:00 from the Hotel, we will make our way to Malta’s Capital City - Valletta The tour will concentrate on visiting the heart of the city. The City of Valletta “The City Built by Gentlemen for Gentlemen”, was officially recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1980. The city is named for Jean Parisot de la Valette, who succeeded in defending the island from an Ottoman invasion in 1565. This magnificent city is nothing short of an open-air museum. Valletta known as Il-Belt, contains buildings from the 16th century onwards, built during the rule of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, also known as Knights Hospitaller. Walking into this beautiful city surrounded by bastions, and ravelins we see the Grandeous Triton Fountain which leads to the City Gates and New Parliament building, a Masterpiece of the renowned Architect Renzo Piano, we’ll walk past St. James Cavalier, originally a grain storage space which now has been turned into an Arts and Creativity Centre. Castille Square and the imposing Auberge the Castille now Office of the Prime Minister, continuing to the Upper Barracca Gardens for a breathtaking panorama of the Grand Harbour. We will walk past the Auberge D’Italie now known as MUZA (Museum of Fine Arts) through Merchants Street onto the Jewel at the centre of the city the St. John’s Co-Cathedral and Museum, housing the painting ‘The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist’ by Caravaggio, considered one of Caravaggio’s masterpieces and the only painting signed by the painter. We will leave this beautiful city and we’ll make our way to the Ta’ Qali Crafts Village. located nearby was once a British WWII outpost, but has been converted to a village for local handicrafts. You will be able to watch local artisans at work blowing elaborate glass art pieces, intricately assembling original silver filigree jewellery, carving the local limestone and many more. This is the perfect place to pick up treasures that will remind you of your Malta visit. Lastly, we will visit Mdina, sitting majestically on top of the Hill, with amazing views of the Maltese island. Malta’s Old Capital, remained the centre of the Maltese nobility and religious authorities well after it lost its status as Malta’s capital city in the 1540’s. Today Mdina is better known as the Silent City because of its literally quiet and narrow streets that give off a quaint yet very homey atmosphere. In Mdina, you will have some time to enjoy lunch before the walking tour and time to relax and enjoy the area afterwards. 17:00 Ending at the Hotel. Free time at the hotel and overnight.

Info   Day 3 GOZO EXPERIENCE (Half Day)

We will depart at 08:00 and make our way to Cirkewwa Port, from here we will take the Gozo Ferry. The short ferry trip between Malta and Gozo is an essential part of the journey, providing not only transportation but also a scenic experience, passing by the island of Comino and the iconic Blue Lagoon with its crystal-clear waters. Arriving in Gozo we will make our way to the Dwejra Inland Sea. a picturesque lagoon of sea water linked to the Mediterranean Sea through a narrow natural arch surrounded by high limestone cliffs, creating a sheltered lagoon with calm and clear waters. We will then continue to the Shrine of our Lady of Ta’ Pinu. This Architectural masterpiece is a testimony of craftsmanship in Maltese stone. The sanctuary is associated with “Miracles”; stories of people cured due to religious intervention. On the Opposite side of the Sanctuary, we find Ta’ Għammar hill, here you can enjoy awesome views of the surrounding countryside including the Ta’ Gordan Lighthouse. Afterwards, we'll head to Xlendi Bay, a charming coastal village where fishermen store their boats in the winter. Today, it has become a highly sought-after destination for swimming, snorkelling, and diving. The bay is beloved by both tourists and locals, thanks to its serene atmosphere and scenic setting. It's an ideal place to have lunch and savour local delicacies while basking in the tranquil ambience of the bay. The next destination will be The Citadel, also referred to as the Castello, serving as the citadel of Victoria on the island of Gozo, Malta. This area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age. Today only a few families reside within the Citadel walls. In the central square, you'll encounter the splendid baroque Cathedral of Gozo dedicated to Santa Marija. Additionally, the square houses the Law Courts and the Bishop’s Palace. Within the bastions, we find a state-of-the-art Visitors’ Centre, the Cathedral Museum, the Museum of Archaeology, the Folklore Museum, the Gozo Nature Museum, the Old Prison, the Old Gunpowder Magazine, the Grain Silos, the Battery, and a World War II Shelter. Walking around the perimeter at the top of the citadel we get spectacular 360o views of Gozo. From here we will make our way down to the lower part of Victoria, where we can walk the web of the narrow winding streets of this old city with its small shops and the magnificent St. George’s Basilica among other buildings. Here we will have some free time for those who would like to shop around for that special memento to take back home. Afterwards, we will make our way back to the Ferry port and Hotel
