After breakfast at hotel, Visit Ramboda Falls, Tea Factory. Nuwara Eliya Nuwara Eliya, also known as the "City of Lights," is the highest town in Sri Lanka, providing a refreshing break from the tropical heat. Situated at around 2,000 meters above sea level, surrounded by lush tea plantations, it serves as the heart of Sri Lanka's tea industry. Once a retreat for European planters, the town retains its English charm with colonial-style bungalows and buildings. Relax and enjoy the cool evening in the serene surroundings of Nuwara Eliya. Gregory Lake/Strawberry Plantations/Flower Gardens/Colonial Buildings/Race Course/Golf Club Enjoy boat rides, jet skis, pedal boats, or a relaxing walk around Gregory Lake (Entrance Not Included). Visit the Strawberry Plantation and enjoy fresh strawberries. Explore other attractions like Victoria Park, Race Course, and Golf Course (Entrance Not Included). Seetha Amman Temple, Seetha Eliya (Entrance Not Included) Located near the scenic town, this temple is believed to be where Seeta Mata spent her days in captivity under Ravana’s rule, about 5,000 years ago. It’s one of the few temples dedicated to Seeta. Hakgala Botanical Gardens (Entrance Not Included) Spread across 28 hectares, these gardens lie beneath the Hakgala rock and are renowned for their rose garden, magnificent trees, indoor plants, and other flowers. After breakfast at hotel, check out and begin your journey to Bentota. Pinnawala – Elephant Orphanage (Entrance Not Included) Pinnawela Orphanage is situated in Rambukkana, northwest of the town Kegalla, halfway between the present capital Colombo and the ancient royal residence Kandy in the hills of central Sri Lanka. It was established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Wildlife Department. This 24-acre large elephant orphanage is also a breeding place for elephants. The first elephant baby was born in 1984, and it has the greatest herd of elephants in captivity in the world. Between 1975 and 2012, 67 animals were born here. Madu River Journey (Entrance Not Included) Maadu Ganga flows across Balapitiya (approximately 80 km south of Colombo) and is one of the rarely visited, unspoiled attractions any nature lover can find in Sri Lanka. It features a cluster of 64 small islands along its path, most of which are covered with mangroves and are uninhabited. Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project ("KSTCP") (Entrance Not Included) Dudley Perera's project has been underway since 1988. The main aim of the project is to monitor local sea turtle activity and conserve the local nesting sites. It also seeks to raise public awareness about how endangered these beautiful creatures are and the importance of protecting them before it's too late.
