About Annavaram ย This is a census town in the Prakasam district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Annavaram Mandal of the Annavaram revenue division. The town is located on the banks of the Godavari River. Primary and secondary school education is imparted by government, aided and private schools, under the "School Education Department" of the state. The medium of instruction followed by different schools is English and Telugu. The town is home to Annavaram Siva Temple, one of the most popular pilgrimage centres in Andhra Pradesh. Every year, a huge festival is celebrated at the temple, called "Dattatreya Jayanti". The town is connected to major cities and towns by road and railway. The nearest railway station is located in Annavaram and the nearest airport is located in Vijayawada.
