About Kabini dam Kabini Dam is a reservoir formed by the construction of Kabini Dam across the Kabini River in the state of Karnataka in southern India. The reservoir is a part of the Kabini River Project, which includes the construction of a power station and the Hogenakal Water Supply Scheme. The power station is located at the reservoir's eastern end and has a capacity of 140 MW. The Hogenakal Water Supply Scheme, located at the reservoir's western end, diverts water to the states of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The Kabini Dam was completed in 1974.
