BIO-BUBBLE MODEL INTRODUCED BY KERALA TO REVIVE TOURISM IN THE STATE

he Kerala tourism department has introduced a "bio-bubble" model to revive tourism in the state after COVID. On Monday, the government reopened all the tourism centres in Kerala to make things more accessible to tourists who have taken at least one vaccine.
 
Bio-bubble is basically safe, secure environments created for vaccinated staff and tourists. In this environment, only vaccinated staff will handle tourists right from the time they get in the state till they reach the destination. This model is believe to create protective layers of mostly inoculated service.

The Kerala Tourism Minister PA Mohammed Riyas told media, "From the airport, they can drive to their chosen destinations in cabs, provided by accredited tour operators, whose drivers are all vaccinated. The same goes for the hotels, resorts or homestays they stay during their holiday, where the staff are vaccinated".

Now that tourism centers in Kerala are open, tourists who have taken atleast the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine or have a negative RT PCR test report not older than 72 hours. The government has allowed hotels, resorts, homestays and houseboats to reopen.

While the state government is reopening tourism, Kerala on Wednesday recorded 23500 new cases of the infection. With these fresh cases, the total number of the COVID positive has gone up to 36,10,193. Meanwhile the virus has claimed 18,120 innocent lives in Kerala.
