EMIRATES SUSPENDS FLIGHTS FROM INDIA TILL AUGUST 7

Emirates suspends flights from India till August 7, Emirates is the largest flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates, while Etihad Airlines, the second largest in the nation, has suspended flights 'till further notice'.

Emirates Airlines on Wednesday announced that the flights from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have been suspended till August 7, given the current pandemic situation. The official notification released by the airline reads, "In line with UAE government directives, Emirates will be suspending the carriage of passengers from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to Dubai until 7 August 2021. Furthermore, passengers who have connected through India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka in the last 14 days will not be accepted to travel from any other point to the UAE."
Another UAE carrier, Etihad Airlines has suspended its flights from India till further notice. No official date of the resumption has been released by the airline yet. In a tweet, Etihad mentioned, "Following the recent update our flights from India have been suspended until further notice. As soon as we receive an official communication of changes to this regulation, our website will be updated. Do stay tuned for the latest travel information." Before this, Etihad Airlines had said that all their flights from India would remain suspended till August 2, 2021. The suspension of the flights from these leading airlines was announced on April 24, after the COVID-19 second wave in India.
