As part of the Swadesh Darshan scheme, the IRCTC will run its first Bharat Gaurav Tourist train on the Ramayana Circuit on June 21. The route will pass through all of the significant locations related with Lord Rama's life. In Janakpur, Nepal, the train will also stop at the famed Ram Janaki temple.
The Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train Tour is an 18-day excursion that will take you through various parts of India as well as Janakpur, Nepal. The journey will begin in Delhi and end in Ayodhya, Lord Rama's birthplace. The Shri Ram Janmabhumi temple in Nandigram would be the first attraction, followed by the Hanuman temple and Bharat Mandir.
Following that, the train will stop in Buxar, Bihar, for a visit to Maharishi Vishwamitra's hermitage and the Ramrekha Ghat. Continuing on, Sitamarhi, Sita's birthplace, is the next stop. The group will next be transported to Janakpur, Nepal, where they will tour the Ram Janaki Temple. The train then returns to Varanasi, India, where visitors can visit the temples. Road travel would be used to reach 'Sita Samahit Sthal,' Prayag, Shringverpur, and Chitrakoot.
Nasik and Panchvati are the following stops. Next on the schedule is the ancient city of Krishkindha in Hampi. The main attraction here will be the Hanuman temple on top of the Anjaneyadri Hills.
The train will then proceed to Rameshwaram, where travellers will have the opportunities to experience the famous Ramanathaswamy Temple and Dhanushkodi.
Then there's Kanchipuram, home to the Shiv Kanchi, Vishnu Kanchi, and Kamakhshi temples; and finally, Bhadrachalam in Telangana, dubbed the "Ayodhya of the South."
The Ramayana journey will finally return to Delhi after covering nearly 8000 kilometres.
