Summer has arrived, and everyone is seeking for a way to get away from the heat. Look no further, since Astanmarg, one of Srinagar's most beautiful spots to explore, is the new kid on the block for exciting adventure paragliding.
In Srinagar's Astanmarg, the Kashmir tourism agency has established adventure paragliding in collaboration with a private paragliding company.
Astanmarg is a rich green meadow on the Zabarwaan range located on the outskirts of Srinagar, roughly 27.5 kilometres from the city centre. The paragliding will start at the top of Astanmarg and continue to Chandpora ground. If a 2000-foot vertical plunge does not excite the adventurous you, we don't know what would.
Bookings for the paragliding session can be made online.
Experts on hand will brief the gliders on the gear and provide all necessary safety instructions as part of the pre-flight ritual. The gliders can then lift off for their flight, which will last between 12 and 15 minutes. That's 12-15 minutes of unrestricted flight time with breathtaking views of the valley below, including the snow-capped mountain ranges, Dal Lake, Dachigam National Park, Mahadev Peak, and Mughal Gardens. Chandpora, around 5330 feet above sea level in Srinagar, is the landing site.
Srinagar, Kashmir's summer capital, never runs out of ways to keep visitors enthralled. After you've finished paragliding, you can explore the Dal and Anchar lakes, or travel to Gulmarg, which is another stunning location worth visiting while in Srinagar.
