Jallianwala Bagh Massacre
The Amritsar Jallianwala Bagh Massacre was a massacre that occurred on April 13, 1919, at Jallianwala Bagh, a public park in Amritsar, Punjab, British India. On the day of the massacre, Brigadier General Reginald Dyer marched his troops into the park and ordered them to open fire on an unarmed and unsuspecting crowd of men, women, and children. The shooting continued for 10 minutes, resulting in the deaths of at least 379 people and the wounding of 1,200 more.
