About National Museum of Contemporary Art Athens

The Athens National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST) is Greece’s first and only museum of contemporary art. The museum is located in the heart of Athens, in the district of Kolonaki. EMST was founded in 2009, and it opened to the public in 2011. The museum’s collection consists of over 5,000 works of art, made by more than 1,000 artists from over 50 countries. EMST’s mission is to promote contemporary art and to support the development of the arts in Greece.
