Guruvayur is a town and municipality in the Thrissur district of Kerala, India. It is located at around 68 km from the state capital of Thiruvananthapuram. The town is famed for the Guruvayurappan Temple, an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu. The temple is one of the most important places of worship for Hindus in India and is often visited by pilgrims.
