History of Ezhimala
The Ezhimala hill is a geo-morphological feature in Kannur district of Kerala, South India. It is the largest hill in the district and is the site of the Ezhimala Naval Academy. The Ezhimala hill is said to be the abode of the deity Shiva. The ancient name of the hill is Mount Kailasa. The Ezhimala hill is also mentioned in the Ramayana. The Ezhimala hill was once a part of the Chera dynasty kingdom. The Ezhimala Naval Academy was established on the hill in 1953.
