Kudremukh, literally meaning "horse's forehead", is a peak in the Western Ghats range in Chikkamagaluru district, Karnataka, India. At an elevation of 1,894 metres (6,217 ft), it is the third highest peak in Karnataka. The peak is protected by the Kudremukh National Park. The area around Kudremukh is hilly and forested. The park is known for its wildlife, including the endangered lion-tailed macaque. The area also has a number of waterfalls, including the Kudremukh Falls. The peak can be reached by a trek of about 18 km (11 mi). The trek is usually done from the village of Kalasa, which is about 26 km (16 mi) from the peak.
