Kudremukh is a small town located in the Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka, India. Kudremukh literally means Horse Face in Kannada, owing to the resemblance of the nearby Kudremukh peak to a horse's face. Kudremukh National Park is a major tourist attraction in the region. Kudremukh is a mountain range and the name of a peak in Karnataka's Chikkamagaluru district. It is also the name of a tiny hill station and cum mining town about 20 kilometres from Kalasa, located near the mountain. The Kudremukh Range (literally "Horse Face") is named after the distinctive shape of its main summit. The vast hills, which overlook the Arabian Sea, are connected by deep valleys and sharp cliffs. Kudremukh is thought to have been a landmark for mariners on the western coast for over 2000 years. With its steep pathways and floral and faunal diversity, the Kudremukh Peak, at an elevation of 1894 meters above sea level, is a paradise for trekkers and naturists alike.
