Gun Hill is a hill station in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand, India. It is located about 5 km from the city of Dehradun and is a popular tourist destination. Gun Hill is the second highest point in Dehradun after the Survey of India's office in Clement Town. The summit offers a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding countryside. The Gun Hill Ropeway was inaugurated in 2009, and is the longest ropeway in Uttarakhand. It spans a distance of 1,650 metres and can carry up to 400 passengers per hour. The ropeway terminates at a viewpoint on the summit of Gun Hill. Gun Hill is also home to the Indian Military Academy, and is a popular destination for IMA cadets and their families.
