Legend of Baijnath Temple
There is a legend associated with the Baijnath Temple that says that the Pandavas, after their exile and during their fourteen year of anonymity, came to this place. They were following a divine guidance that told them to seek salvation in the lap of the Himalayas. It is believed that they found the temple here and also installed the idol of Lord Shiva here.
