The Franz Kafka statue in Prague is a memorial to the great writer and thinker who was born in the city in 1883. The statue, by Jaroslav Rona, was unveiled in 1975 and is located on the corner of Wenceslas Square and New Town Square. Kafka was one of the most important writers of the 20th century, and his work continues to be studied and debated to this day. He is best known for his novels The Trial and The Castle, as well as his short stories.
