Bhalu Dam

Bhalu Dam is located in Ranikhet and is a popular tourist destination. It is also known as the Bhalu barrage. The dam was constructed in the year 1917 and is a concrete gravity dam. 

The length of the dam is 97.5 metres and the height is 17.5 metres.

 

The reservoir created by the dam has a capacity of 6.5 million cubic metres. The dam is used for irrigation and also provides drinking water to the people of Ranikhet. The dam is also a popular spot for fishing.
