History of Peechi Dam
The Thrissur Peechi Dam is an irrigation dam constructed across the Chalakudy River in Thrissur district of Kerala, India. The dam is a part of the Chalakudy River Project, which is aimed at irrigating over 100,000 hectares of land in Thrissur district. The reservoir created by the dam also provides drinking water to the people of Thrissur city. The dam was commissioned in 1962.
