Located 90 kms north of Nagpur, in the southern end of Satpura range, Pench was listed as a tiger reserve in 1992. The setting for Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, the park is home to more than 80 tigers apart from 39 mammal species, 13 reptile species, 3 amphibian species and more than 200 bird species including migratory birds.
