* About Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve

Located 130 kms from Nagpur, created in 1955, this is Maharashtra's oldest & largest national park. The reserve gets its name from the local deity "Taru" or "Tadoba" and the Andhari river which flows through the forest. Covering an area of 625 sq. kms., the reserve is home to approx 90 tigers apart from other mammal, reptiles and 200 bird species. The forest is divided in 3 ranges (Tadoba, Moharli & Kolsa). The Tadoba lake has a thriving population of Muggar crocodile.
