Getting to the Sunnegga paradise is really convenient. The Sunnegga-Rothorn valley station is a comfortable 10 minute walk away from Zermatt train station. Just hop on to the funicular that takes you to the top in under 5 minutes.

Things to do at Sunnegga
Wolli Adventure Park
A perfect spot in the most scenic setting, this park offers summer and winter fun for all ages. Come summer, you can have a refreshing dip in the lake, cross the lake on a secured raft and spend the day at its various picnic and barbeque spots.

In winter, this is the ideal place for beginners of all ages to try their hand at skiing.

Kickbike
Bikes can be rented from the Sunnega-Rothorn valley station. This activity is suitable for both young and old. Once you have the helmets on its time to decend down 821 metres of pure fun. The brakes in your bike help you control the speed. You will cross beautiful wooden houses and pine forests on the way. This activity is recommended for kids over 9 years of age.

Hiking
Sunnega is the starting point for many hikes like the Nature Trail and the famous 5 lake hike.

These themed walks are a real treasure for nature lovers. Along your walk, you will get an amazing glimpse into a wonderworld of protected plant species and also get fantastic views and photo opportunities of the mighty Matterhorn. Some of these themed trails are even available all year round.

Marmots Trail
The marmot watching station is very famous in the summer to watch the cute and charming marmot. There are also theme trails that help us understand more about our furry friends who live in deep burrows on the Swiss Alps.

How to get to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise
Firstly, you will have to reach Zermatt, the car-free region in Switzerland. No matter where you are staying in Switzerland, use the SBB app, the most popular Swiss app for public transport, to check the routes and reach Zermatt via the impeccable Swiss transport system.

From the Zermatt rail station, you can either walk, a 20-minute walk, or take an electric bus to reach the gondola station.

Your trip begins at the gondola station. Remember, you have to change three gondolas to reach your final destination, i.e. Matterhorn Glacier Paradise.

First gondola takes you to Furi at 1640 meters. While ascending, you will get to see a bird’s eye view of the Zermatt village.

Second gondola takes you from Furi to Trockener Steg at 2939 meters. The second cable car ascends over a rough, rocky alpine landscape. If you are already tired, grab something to keep you going at the Trockener Steg restaurant.

Third and the last gondola takes you from Trockener Steg to Klein Matterhorn, famously known as Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. In this ride, you have an option to choose from various types of gondola rides. You can choose a regular gondola ride, an older cable car, or ramp up your experience by choosing the ‘Crystal ride’, which has a glass floor that becomes transparent in 3 minutes once the ride begins. Furthermore, you can even choose a VIP gondola, breakfast gondola, or a fondue gondola. The experiences are overwhelming.

The entire journey from Zermatt rail station to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise takes more than 45 minutes.

Things to do at Glacier 3000 
Peak walk by Tissot 
The highlight of your trip for sure! This suspension bridge connects 2 peaks and takes you to new heights. The 107 metre long and 80 cm wide bridge will give you a feeling of being one with nature and offer stunning views of the alpine landscape around you. It is free of charge and open year round.

Alpine coaster (In summer) 
The waves, jumps, circles and curves of the 1 kilometer long Alpine coaster can be traversed at up to 40 km/hour. Don’t fear the speed since you have the brake control in your hands and can adjust the speed as per your requirement. This coaster is at times up to 6 mteres above the ground so be prepared to have your adrenaline pumping. You require being 130cm in height to sit on the Alpine coaster and children under 9 years can ride tandem with another person of over 9 years of age.

Snow Bus
