Day 1

Info Day 1: Coimbatore → Ooty via Coonoor (85 km / 3 hrs)

Start your journey from Coimbatore in the morning. On the way, stop at Mettupalayam and then explore Coonoor, visiting Sim’s Park, Lamb’s Rock, and Dolphin’s Nose Viewpoint for panoramic valley views. You can also ride the Nilgiri Mountain Railway Toy Train (from Mettupalayam to Coonoor/Ooty – UNESCO Heritage experience). Arrive in Ooty by afternoon, check in to your hotel, and relax. In the evening, enjoy boating at Ooty Lake, stroll around Thread Garden, or explore the local market. Overnight stay in Ooty.

After breakfast, visit the famous Government Botanical Garden and Rose Garden with its 20,000+ varieties of roses. Head to Doddabetta Peak, the highest in the Nilgiris, offering spectacular views. Later, visit the Tea Factory & Museum, Wax World Museum, and St. Stephen’s Church. In the afternoon, drive to Pykara Lake, Pykara Waterfalls, and Pykara Dam – ideal for boating and photography.
