On arrive at Guwahati airport, drive to Shillong (130kms / 3:30 hrs drive), enroute stop at the scenic view point of the Umiam Lake (the largest manmade lake in Northeast India), reach Shillong and check into hotel.Evening visit police Bazar & market area. Overnight stay in Shillong.

Hotel DAY 02 : SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJEE & Local Sightseeing

Today after breakfast we set to explore Shillong and Cherrapunjee (56 kms / 02 hrs drive), we will visit the Elephant falls, and the drive further to Cherrapunjee, and at Cherrapunjee we visit Mawkdok Valley View Point, Seven Sister Falls, The Nohkalikai Falls (the fourth highest falls in the world), Mawsmai Cave, Dainthlen Falls and Krem Falls. After exploring for the day check into the hotel and relax, evening at leisure and overnight stay in Cherrapunjee.

Hotel DAY 03 : CHERRAPUNJEE- DOUBLE DECKER BRIDGE - CHERRAPUNJEE

After morning breakfast, trek to the Living Root Bridge enroute visit Nohkalikai falls . The trek normally takes five to six hours. The route is replete with small villages where one can relax and explore rural life. Double Decker Living Root Bridge is a UNESCO Heritage site. This amazing bridge is a Two-Tier Living Root Bridge (made of the roots of a living tree), connecting a chasm with a pool of jade water below. The two tiers measure 59ft and 83 ft. in length respectively. Overnight stay in Cherrapunjee.

Hotel DAY 04 : CHERRAPUNJEE – MAWLYNNONG & DAWKI – SHILLONG

Next morning after breakfast, you will be taken to Mawlynnong. Mawlynnong is known for being the cleanest village in Asia and also it has a living root bridge. These bridges are unique formations built by the secondary roots of the rubber trees. The local people net the roots with each other to form a ropeway like structure which after about 100 years becomes strong enough to be used as a bridge to cross the hilly streams. After the sightseeing you will be on your way to Dawki, which has the clearest river water in Asia. . Dawki is located on the border between India and Bangladesh. It is really hard to ignore the crystal clear water of the Umngot River. Boat rides in this pristine river is a major tourist attraction. Travellers enjoy being part of this magnificent scenery and enjoy nearby sights and sounds. Soothing natural beauty of this town and rushing water of Umngot River is a perfect combination for all kinds of visitors either looking for peace or for an adrenaline rush through adventure. After DAWKI you will be on your way back to Shillong to the hotel. Overnight in shillong.

Today after a leisurely breakfast visit Shillong Peak, Don Bosco Museum, Cathedral of Mary, Ward’s Lake, Lady Hydari Park. After that, you can visit Laitlum canyons, which are literally translated as ‘End of Hills’, or ‘Edge of the World’. And it is a fact that Laitilum nestled at great heights, and is surrounded by vast rocky hills and valleys . Evening transfer to Guwahali. The Kamakhya Temple at Nilachal hills in Guwahati, Assam is one of the oldest and most revered centres of Tantric practices,[3] dedicated to the goddess Kamakhya. The temple is the center of the Kulachara Tantra Marga and the site of the Ambubachi Mela, an annual festival that celebrates the menstruation of the goddess. Structurally, the temple is dated to the 8th-9th century with many subsequent rebuildings and the final hybrid architecture defines a local style called Nilachal. It is also one among the oldest 4 of the 51 pithas in the Shakta tradition. Drop at Guwahati Airport for your onward journey.
