3 Days Serengeti and Ngorongoro Group Safari

Your journey begins early in Arusha, where your safari guide meets you at your hotel and welcomes you into a small, shared 4x4 safari vehicle.

As you leave the town behind, the road slowly rises into the cool green highlands of Ngorongoro. Villages, coffee farms and open grazing land pass quietly outside your window — a gentle transition from daily life into wilderness.

By early afternoon, the landscape opens dramatically into the Serengeti ecosystem.

This is the moment most first-time travellers remember forever.

Endless golden grasslands stretch to the horizon, broken only by granite kopjes and scattered acacia trees. From the very first kilometres inside the park, your safari truly begins.

You enjoy your first game drive en-route to camp, following wildlife corridors and scanning the plains for:

• lion prides resting near kopjes

• cheetahs searching the open grass for speed and space

• elephants moving between water points

• giraffes and vast herds of zebra and wildebeest flowing across the land

By sunset, you arrive at your tented camp.

The morning light in Serengeti is soft, golden and alive.

After an early breakfast, you head out for a focused morning game drive while predators are still active and the plains are calm. Your guide concentrates on known lion territories and open hunting grounds where cheetah and hyena are frequently seen.

This is a slower, more intentional safari drive — allowing time to observe behaviour, not just tick sightings.

Late in the morning, you begin your scenic transfer toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The drive itself is part of the experience.

You gradually leave the vast flat plains behind and climb into cooler highlands, passing crater viewpoints and forested slopes. The air changes, the light changes, and the rhythm of the journey gently slows in preparation for tomorrow’s highlight.

In the late afternoon you arrive at your lodge near the Crater rim area.

A relaxed dinner and early night prepare you for an early descent into the Crater the next morning.

Today is dedicated to one of Africa’s most extraordinary natural sanctuaries.

After an early breakfast, you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater — a vast, intact volcanic caldera that shelters an exceptional concentration of wildlife within its walls.

During your game drive on the crater floor, you explore:

• open grasslands

• swamp systems filled with hippos

• freshwater lakes visited by flamingos and water birds

• acacia woodland favoured by elephant and lion

The Crater is famous for its reliability.

It offers some of Tanzania’s best chances to encounter:

• large lion prides

• buffalo herds

• black-maned male lions

• hyenas and jackals

• and, with some luck, the rare black rhino moving quietly across the open plains

You enjoy a picnic lunch inside the Crater, surrounded by wildlife and dramatic volcanic walls.

In the early afternoon, you ascend back to the rim and begin your return drive to Arusha.

You are dropped off at Arusha town or Arusha Airport, marking the end of your 3-day shared safari experience.
