About Dachigam national park Dachigam National Park is a protected area in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The park is located in the Kashmir Valley, about 60 kilometers from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir. The park is a Ramsar wetland of international importance. It is also a Biosphere Reserve and a Protected Area for Wildlife. The park was created in October 1991, and covers an area of 191.5 square kilometers. The park is home to a wide variety of animals, including Kashmir stag, Himalayan black bear, leopard, Asiatic black bear, musk deer, and wild boar. The park is also home to a wide variety of birds, including the Himalayan monal, the Kashmiri owl, and the black-necked crane.
