About Treptower park Treptower Park is a large public park in the Plรคnterwald-Treptow district of Berlin, Germany. It was opened in 1892 as a municipal park. After World War II, the park was used as a Soviet military cemetery. Today, it is a popular recreational area. The park is located on the right bank of the Spree River, in the eastern part of Berlin. It is bounded by the Karl-Marx-Allee to the north, the Spree to the east, the Treptower Park S-Bahn station to the south, and the Seddinsee to the west. The park is about 85 hectares in size. It has a lake, a rose garden, a playground, and a number of monuments. The most famous monument in the park is the Soviet War Memorial, which was erected in 1949.
