About Valley of flowers Valley of Flowers is a high altitude Himalayan valley located in the state of Uttarakhand, India. The valley is known for its alpine meadows carpeted with wildflowers. It is also home to a wide variety of animals, including Himalayan brown bears, leopards, and blue sheep. The Valley of Flowers is located in the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The valley can be accessed via the village of Ghangaria, which is located at the base of the valley. From Ghangaria, it is a six kilometer hike to the valley floor. The Valley of Flowers is open to visitors from late July to early October.
