History of Borra Caves
The Borra Caves are located in the Ananthagiri hills of the Eastern Ghats, about 90 km from Vishakhapatnam. They were discovered by British surveyors in 1807, and were first explored in 1878 by William King, the then Collector of Vizianagaram. The caves are named after the Borra Ghat, the mountain pass through which they are located.
