The park is located on the slopes of Parnitha mountain, 20 km north-west of Athens. The park is a popular destination for Athenians and visitors to Athens, offering hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, horseback riding, and bird watching. The park is also home to the Monastery of Saint Dionysius and the Cave of Pan.
