The National Art Gallery of Athens is housed in a neoclassical building on Panepistimiou Street in the center of Athens. The museum was founded in 1878 and is now the largest art museum in Greece, with more than 17,000 works in its collection. The museum's collection includes paintings, sculptures, drawings, and prints from the 14th century to the present day. Highlights of the collection include works by El Greco, Rembrandt, Rubens, Goya, and Degas.
